Increasing your knowledge of the physical world, becoming engulfed by the awe and wonder of things yet to be discovered, and expanding your horizons to encompass all of this can be a little unsettled or even unnerving if you are not mentally prepared for the challenges that lie ahead. Taking the path less travelled is a scary and exhilerating task to conquer. For years, I have always set myself up for "challenges" that would make me look good by answering questions quickly or being able to grasp a concelt rapidly. Venturing into the future, challenges my ability to accomplish multiple assignments from various classes in a timely and efficient manner. Not only will I have to balance analyzing media, build and debug basic programs, figure out the logic behind discrete math, understand key concepts used in calculus, relearn the basic foundations of life and how we interact with them, but I will also have to juggle a wife, 2 small children at home, my 2 boys in Texas, and my 2 step-daughters in North Carolina. I am in no way, shape, or form trying to say that my plate is more full than anyone elses; I am simply organizing thoughts in my head and placing them in perspective. The road ahead is definitely not an easy one, nor does the light shine at the end of the fall semester tunnel. The is just the beginning of an extraordinary journey of a man trying to complete something in his life in the shortest amount of time possible now when it should have been done nearly 20 years ago.
